TREMBLAY
WINS TOP JOB
Tuesday March 27th, 2001 12:00 NZT
For the second year running, Louis Tremblay will again lead
the Rink Rats
into the heat of battle for the 2001 season, which starts Thursday
week. In the annual pre-season meeting at Robbies Bar & Bistro
- Barrington, a tied vote between Tremblay and Ernie Hayes
lead to a private conversation between the two.
Both
men were dead-heated with each receiving three votes for captain
and five votes for assistant captain. Hayes commented that as the
votes were even, the status from last season should remain with
Tremblay as captain, Hayes and Ian Bell as assistants.
In
reverting to standard IIHF rules, the team also decided to only
have two assistants for the 2001 season, and as such no third person
was voted to this position.
Results
of the voting;
Louis Tremblay (3 cap / 5 asst. = 11 pts)
Ernie Hayes (3 cap / 5 asst. = 11 pts)
Ian Bell (1 cap / 4 asst. = 6 pts)
Ricard Parr (2 cap / 2 asst. = 6 pts)
Dwayne Bell (1 cap = 2 pts)
Adam Wheatley (2 asst. = 2 pts)
Matt Wheatley (1 asst. = 1 pt)
Stan Greene (1 asst. = 1 pt)
