WIEDEMANN ARRIVES IN AOTEROA
Wednesday April 17th 2002 1315 NZT

Direct from Frankfurt via Singapore, the newest member of the
the Rink Rats, Swen Wiedemann touched down this morning at Christchurch International Airport, 11:23am local time.

Born: Feb 23rd, 1979, Soest, Germany

Height: 1.75m Weight: 67.5kg

Shoots: Right

Here on a working-holiday break, Wiedemann was keen to help the team with dry-land coaching, play some good hockey, and of course to experience the hospitality and beauty of the South Island of New Zealand. He is listed as a game-time decision to play tomorrow night against the Bears due to the effects of jet-lag.

Aoteroa is the native Maori name for New Zealand, meaning "Land of the Long White Cloud" which is how it appeared to the earliest settler's arriving in canoes from the Pacific.
