Rats start 5th Year in fine style

Christchurch, April 17th, 2003 1500 NZT

The Rink Rats recorded their first win of the 2003 season with a 7-2 result over the Cougars last Thursday night at the Alpine Ice Sports Center, Christchurch.

Six minutes into the first period, the Rats were looking at a long season when they got two goals behind.

Only fielding nine players on the bench due to travel comittments (Greene, Maylsh and Conrad), illness (Zaitsev) and suspensions (I.Bell), the Rodents rallied behind newly elected captain
Ernie Hayes
to steady the ship and record the next seven goals.

The Fifth Anniversary logo has been designed to celebrate the fifth season as Rink Rats playing in the Canterbury Ice Hockey Association Senior League, and will be avaliable as a background wallpaper download in the coming weeks.
